Very sad. A big Anglofile and eventually became a Brit.

Was great in Salems Lot.

RIP

Re: David Soul RIP.
Aw no. Starsky & Hutch is probably my favourite TV series of all time and Salem's Lot (the mini series) scared the crap out of me when I was at school. RIP Hutch.

Swiss - Didn't realise he had become a British citizen and lived in London.

Interesting (but very long) piece written by Soul about it http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/david-soul-my-home-is-where-my-art-is-535323.html

Oh yes - that bedroom window scene...
Up there with some of the best M.R. James adaptations and The woman in black for genuinely scary horror on TV.
Loved Starsky and Hutch too.

RIP

Seemed a decent bloke... wasn't really a S&H fan but loved him in Salems Lot... which at the time scared the penis off every schoolkid that stayed up to watch it.... so that balances up his poppy dross he infected the airways with in the mid 70s

Zico.

I read Salems Lot when I was 15 and it scared the crap out of me.

Sad news, always came across as very likeable.

RIP.

Re: David Soul RIP.
Some good videos on You Tube re Salem's Lot, one of which David Soul presents himself. No CGI in those days just some very uncomfortable safety lines and body casts! Apparently the Marsden House on the hill is just a four sided facade which surrounds a small house already there. The lady who lived in the house didn't want to leave but was quite happy to stay with this creepy fake facade around her house!

Re: David Soul RIP.
I always liked David Soul, a very cool, bloke good looking bloke who you may have been in awe of when growing up etc, but I'm not sure about all this ''great bloke'' stuff. Have a look at his wiki page, among other things he was jailed for beating up his wife who at the time was 7 months pregnant.

Soul not his real name but interesting he retained R as his middle initial

David R Soul
An Arsenal fan. Obviously

Presume he won the toss with Paul Michael Glaser and didnt have to wear that cardigan in S&H
PMG still knocking about 80 it seems

Met him many years ago. Pretty much the only person I've ever been starstruck with having grown up watching him on a Saturday evening as a kid.

COME ON SILVER LADY TAKE MY WORD

I always wanted a cardigan just like Starskey's. Thought I'd really cut the mustard in one of those.

Mate of my saw Huggy Bear in Weston Super Mare. THE "what's the word on the street" Huggy, in Weston fucking super mare.

He was in a panto.

Another from my youth sadly gone. I used to love Saturday night as a kid Starsky and Hutch followed by Match of the Day.

RIP David Hutch Sole

Ah crap... I loved Starsky and Hutch as a boy... even had a poster of them and that car on my bedroom wall!

What a tv show and a great theme tune.... damn it.

RIP Hutch
